Pregnancy update

Eldest had a biometric scan and baby is perfect. The cyst in her brain has gone and she's above the weight they thought. No sign of anything wrong. She's already engaged. She turned her back to them, so we didn't get a pic this time.

My Mum is coming down at the end of next month for a conference, then Dad is coming down in mid July because Mum is going to another one in Darwin then.

ffs

Hmmm, I guess for the money we pay, we didn't get monkeys working for peanuts, we got Great Apes instead.

Let's see, would I rather my tax dollars were spent on
a/ Politicians given a blanket $175 - $190 per night, no matter how much the actual cost to stay in Canberrra. Public Servants get $209 - $333 per night.

or

b/ Tell a family whose son is blind from cancer surgery she should only be paid $7 per day and she'll have to work at night then be up all day with her son while hubby works to support the family.

I'd say they were claiming from Centrelink already, so why the Government car pickup to take them to the Dr's appt? Can we say media hype from Centrelink? Look!!! They are really good, they Care! They should have donated the money it cost for the show pony car to the family.

Politicians seem to have lost sight of the fact that they work for us, the great unwashed masses. We don't work for them.

Ok then.

So, who tilted the earth? Put it back. I can only remain optimistic for a certain period of time before I lose it and I am this >< close to going off my brain.

Where on your body do you have a scar, and what caused it?

Top of my left foot. When I was 10 I was making a costume for a fancy dress party and couldn't find scissors, so I used a razorblade.
I missed the string but got my foot. Got 5 stitches but didn't get to show off my fantabulous costume.

What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle?

I went into labour at 20 weeks with the youngest, waters broke at 22 weeks and managed to stay pregnant till 27 weeks. He turned 12 on Wednesday :-)

Emjoi your day

Does anyone else remember Emjoi coming out sometime in the 80's? The ads promised so much, painfree chemical free hair removal? Well, I guess it was pain free if you'd already removed the hair beforehand cos if you didn't it was excruciating. I mean eyewatering, sailor swearing, hunt down the designer and thump them pain. Anyway, it's back and being sold as a NEW pain free hair removal system.

Really? Do they think the Emjoi is like childbirth, you forget? Do they really think we won't tell our daughters? Plus it's more expensive than the first go round.

I have the whole family hooked on playing Bubble Shooter. First off hubby beat my score but now I am the Queen! I have beaten my first high score. Let's see how long it takes for them to knock me off my throne *G*

Not a happy little vegemite!

Well, we unexpectedly have nowhere to stay at Phillip Island next weekend for Superbikes. I am so pissed off.

Only options are
a/ Don't go
b/ Drive down and back each day

Everywhere is pretty much booked out at this late stage unless we pay megabucks. I would normally just camp at the campgrounds but I've had a really bad year so far PA wise and there's no way I could cope sleeping in a bag for 4 days on the ground.

Pa, get off the dang roof!

I just had the weirdest dream, so much for Nanny naps LOL

Hubby climbed up on the roof to try and fix the loose tile [heat/drought/winds/whatever] that caused the rain last month to come streaming in through the chandelier and also sheeting down the window like we'd installed water features. LOL, then I had to slash the smaller screen in our bedroom so he coud slither back through head first when he realisd he couldn't get to it from where he'd climbed up. I resisted the temptation to remove the soft chair *g* Anyway, that didn't work.

So yesterday, I heeded the dire warnings of BOM tellimg me we were about to be flash flooded, hailstoned and drenched so I enlisted 4/6's BF and success! the offending tile was put back in it's place. We got 2 raindrops.

It's so hot today the AC is just an expensive fan. I'm off to join the cats on the dining room tiles. Much cooler.

Bad hair day

Ok,well, you know how you roll your eyes when someone says you shouldn't have liquid near a computer? [ I'm an adult, I won't spill anything LOL] There's a damn good reason for it, especially when you also have a cold as I found out. I inhaled coffee while writing an email and coughed it back out all over my laptop keyboard. Which is why it's taking so bloody long to type this out as I have to keep backing up to separate the words. My space bar is sticking at one end. Strangely the end I obviously hit a lot. sigh.

Luckily the keyboard is pretty much a sealed unit, so only a tiny droplet got underneath it and no damage except for the space bar. Phew.

Better get back to painting!

Help an Aussie farmer fight the drought

I thought I'd repost this as Alice now has a blog as well where you can keep up with what's happening at the farm. She's also appeared in the media now and you can read her story here

http://www.rangersdrought.blogspot.com/

Please buy a photo if you can, everything helps. As I said, I don't know her personally but you have to give her credit for not sitting around waiting.
