oops...

oh dear, it seems as I am neglecting my blog. I don't mean to, but life just gets in the way of actually sitting down and typing plus the effort of loading photo's via bluetooth which obviously has the irrits with me.

So, I joined Kangaroo Flat Arts Inc and we had our official opening on 1st July, our members exhibition is there for 4 weeks. We were opened by the Bendigo Mayor, Rod Ffyfe and we were also well supported by local business and community groups such as Rajmahal , Men in Sheds and Kangaroo Flat Community Centre.

I've started researching a new theme for another exhibition later this year and it's really interesting, so I keep going down the internet rabbit hole, finding so much good stuff to read and look at. I really need to go to Canberaa though to see some stuff in person. Hopefully I'll be able to wander down to Melbourne to check out some stuff at the galleries too. We are limited to bus travel while they repair the train line atm, so that will have to wait until the trains are running again.

I also signed up for pinterest, to help keep track of the reference material I've found. I love pinterest and have spent many hours looking at boards :)

I tore a ribcage muscle a couple of weeks ago and spent the time painfully resting in bed zonked out of my brains on painkillers, it's slowly getting better though and the level of the *argghhhh* as I sit up or move or breathe is finally going down the scale. I have been crocheting in short bursts, I'm working on new baby blankets as D1 is due 15th Sept and then D2 has her first in early October.

Oh, btw, I decided one day to sneak out of the house to get sugar, only got down the road when the car made a huge bang, started losing power, then kangaroo hopped & shuddered and finally shut down. Luckily I managed to pull off to the side of the road.

So, I'm sitting there thinking that hubby was going to yell at me for being out of bed, let alone out of the house :D and that I really did need to ring him because the car wouldn't start and there was no way in hell I was going to be able to walk home. After making my distress call, I got out to lean on the car as sitting was too painful, a car pulls up behind me, so I walk around the back and look down...

there's about 3 ft of what appears to be blonde/white hair trailing from the exhaust. Fleeting thoughts of Barbie dolls shoved up the exhaust by kids or shrunken heads and wigs as I stood there and pondered this strange happening. Fortunately my sanity was saved by the guy who'd pulled up who explained that the hair was in fact sound deadening fibreglass material from the exhaust. Ahhh, that explains the mini explosion I heard just prior to the car croaking it! Luckily he knew, because I have never seen that happen before.

Car is in the sick bay, awaiting a new exhaust system when it stops being so cold, rainy or hubby is not on call. In the meantime if I want to go anywhere I get to drive the manual beast, which means my travels are severely curtailed as holy crap it hurts to turn the steering wheel!

The only other things I've been doing is watching DWTS..happy Manu won! Amazing Race...sad the Big W ladies left so early, watching Australia's got talent..freaked out at the old guy aerialist...OMG! and watching the Tour de France and wondering how many are going to be left at the end! so many serious injuries already, I really hope they all recover quickly.

Are you turtley enuff for the turtle?

kidlet got into Uni, YAY! is majoring in photojournalism.

We found a friend :D An Eastern snake neck turtle that seems to have been hibernating in the creek over the road until rudely awakened by the Council grass slasher & wandered out onto the road *eek* so he was rescued and we're taking him/her to the creek with water or the lake. The creek over the road is still dry, so we can't put him back there. here's a pic I took on my phone earlier

Oh my, I am so cornfuzzled! Between following, friending and facebooking I am feeling a little terrorised by technology! LOL

Sooo....

If I am not your friend or follower or facebooker and I am s'posed to be [or if you'd like me to be] please do not be offended, you can email me and make jokes at my expense about my memory *grin* Please put dropbears in the subject line to skirt my most excellent spam filter. My email addy is available on my complete profile over there --->

Anyway, the reason I popped in was to say I hope all my blogger/fb/twitter friends in the Big smoke are okay and do I need to send paddles? or vodka? and oy! how about sharing some of the wet stuff? Seriously tho, I hope everyone and everything stayed dry.

Cold.

Well, the weather played a nasty trick today. Beautiful weather all weekend, then wham. Gale force winds and biting cold rain. Harumph.

Of course the bloody shed door had to fling itself open at the height of it. The cat stuck her head out the door, then looked at me as if to say "You're going out there? Are you crazy?". When I got back inside she was laying on my chair in front of the heater.

I finally found an old arcade game that my MIL loved to play and wanted a copy of. Rodent's Revenge. All anyone could remember was something about a mouse and a cat. I've been googling it for a while trying to remember what is was called. It came out on W95 and if you want it as well, the link is here works fine on Vista as I have been playing it all afternoon LOL

Life in the country

Overnight I have succumbed to the evil flu/cold germs floating around. You would think that the fresh country air would scare them off, but no. Tomorrow I am going down to Melbourne on the train for the day...

Anyone want to take bets on the number of death stares I get from other commuters as I sneeze and snuffle my way to the SE suburbs?

To the [ahem]friendly person who emailed me : I'd just like to point out that I was not bagging out Hugh Grant in my previous post. I've just read his Wiki bio as well as a couple of interviews and from that I have formed the opinion that, no you are quite correct, in Real Life he would not be a sad loney git. Probably more a cynical smartarse like me and the lovely Anonymous commenter who actually comprehended what my post was about.

So, there you have it *grin*

Question of the day...

Why do people join fan clubs if they're not fans? Numbskulls.

PS. I haven't been here cos I have been sick with some stoopid arse bug thing. Feeling better now though. Guess I better finish the redecorating LOL and put everyone's links back up before you all think I don't love yous all anymore :-)

PPS Don't you just love rambling run on sentences with improper grammar?

PPPS. It is absolutely.fricking.freezing here. We're not buying a house unless it has central heating to the wazoo and warmed toilet seats. GEEEEEEZ.

I am not invisible anymore!

must be magic! LOL Nah, I think I finally whined at the right person. I'm going to be in Melbourne [again GAH!] at the end of May for a conference on Illuminated Manuscripts. Hopefully I'll have time to swing by and check out Michelle's latest exhibition entries. I really love her Happy Days piece. My friend Ty is moving back to Melbourne very soon, so I am really happy and dying to catch up. A couple more of the gang from Uni are also gravitating to Melbourne [ hmmm. funny how they all turn up just as I leave! LOL]] for work. So, I've been changing stuff around, not just furniture and hopefully everything will be ready to unveil on Thursday. I'll also have some news by then and hopefully be able to invite blackmail/guilt people into coming along. Well, I'm off to get some sleep. It's freezing here and I have a book to read :-) Hugsyasall.

Hit the wall

I actually cried tonight, yelled at hubby and kids and nearly slammed the cat in the doorway.  I don't cry or yell very often so everyone took flight to hide, which is the reason I nearly squished the cat.

I'm thinking of putting up a reward for someone to find my bloody software disks.

I know they're in a box but have no clue which one as every.single.box is labelled lounge or shed. I have a deadline and as I am a Ms control freak with perfectionist tendencies I stress out if something gets in the way. Although, as I said it's very rare for me to get to the frustation level of crying and yelling.

So now, I'm listening and singing along to Bay City Rollers *g*

Bye Bye Baby  [heh]

Oh!

One of my blogging buddies has started a new blog called What I see out my window  I'm sending him a pic tomorrow, bit hard right now, cos it's dark LOL

Go send him a pic.

All of me loves All of you [ hmm, never heard this BCR song before!]

Bloody Hell!

Going on some of the recent search terms people have entered and found my site by, all I can say is....

Your computer needs to have it's cache washed out with soap.

I have some pics to put up but the usb cable is in hiding.  And I'm tired. And now gobsmacked after looking at my server stats. So later. Promise!

I'm back

Interesting last couple of weeks I must say. Must be something in the water. Isn't it amazing the things that crawl out of the woodwork when they think someone is vulnerable.

Noone is afraid of you. Slink away.

Anyway, enuff of that effwit....

Funniest thing that happened though is my husband squished me with the car LOL Idiot! Accidentally of course, but hey, I get bonus stuff when he's feeling guilty! hehehe

New laptop I think. He only got my knee caught in between bumpers and it was the crappy knee anyway, but I'll run with it *g*  Although, he asked me if I wanted to go to Europe next year and see the pretty paintings and meander to a few motorbike races at the same time. Why, yes, I would! So, maybe.

This would be the idea :

August 3   Great Britain  Brands Hatch*
August 24     Tba  Tba
September 7    Great Britain     Donington Park*
September 28     Italy          Vallelunga
October 5     France          Magny Cours*

I'm making pretty shiny things at the moment. Might even sell some. or not. I might keep them for me. I guess I better get off my lazy arse and take some photo's of what I have been doing. Otherwise, I have no reason to blog. LOL except make poor unsuspecting cyber travellers wonder how I manage to function in RL.

Luvya's all!

For all the search engine people...

Supernaut's official Myspace page is here

Gary Twinn's is here

Mine is here LOL [ *pout* I'm starting to feel left out!]

I really only use Myspace for musician updates, very convenient.

Wax is on apples to make them shiny and look good in the supermarket so you buy them.

Waxing without wax eyebrows is called threading or plucking *g* Threading hurts more than waxing and slightly less than plucking in case you wondered.

I don't know a place in Townsville that does threading. Your best bet for getting your eyebrows waxed there though is the Willows or Stockland or somewhere like that.

Without Wax means Yours Sincerely according to some definitions. The idea is that the latin sine [without] cera [wax] is the origin of the word Sincere, however that's also disputed by some scholars and dictionary putterer togetherers. It is also based on Roman/Greece sculptors who covered flaws in their products with wax. So basically without wax means no flaws *g*

Yep, that's me. No flaws. Just kidding. It was my smartarse response to someone who was being a pita and it just kinda stuck.  I may change it at some stage though as I'm a female and that's my birthright.

As for some of the others, the photo's are mine. I took some and my daughter took some at Phillip Island. None were stolen from other sites.

I am tired, granddaughter is in bed so I am going as well.

Nitey Nite!

snort *g*

Wanna bet the Council is going to have to keep spraying the wall every year LOL
I can't believe they thought people wouldn't go back and sign it again. Have they not seen the shrines all over the country on the sides of the roads? Same thing happens there too, councils yank them and back up they go. DUH!

FANS of racing legend Peter Brock have again turned the heart of the Mount Panorama racing circuit into an unofficial shrine to their idol, to the dismay of Bathurst Regional Council Read More

Moving along..

Hubby is defintely getting out but staying on as a reserve. We are moving to Bendigo in January sometime. YAY! Air that won't smell like an exhaust. Not so many people.

Close enough that I can still go to important stuff like Motogp and WSBK at Phillip Island. Close enough I can catch a train or drive here to go to anything interesting at the Art Gallery or for a Conference.

I finally lost patience with the *adult* children and made them swap rooms which is what I wanted to do months ago and got told No. Well. I won. One is moving out in less than a month and going to live close to her 2 eldest.

She's getting a webcam though so the baby can talk to me and I can sing Galumph went the little green frog to her. Nana singing is once again her favourite entertainment, the record is 46 renditions complete with silly faces, animated hands and funny voice.

BTW, I got my new cd and it rocks. Tracks I haven't heard.

I'm pretty weird with music, don't know why but I visualize music as well as hear it. Music marks memories in my life as well. I use music to create imagery to paint. and yes, I dream in colour too *g*

Seriously, Wayne Carey should STFU. It's people who make comments like that about people who have depression are the reason why people are hesitant to get help or talk to someone. Next he'll be whining  that's he's a victim of tall poppy syndrome. *snort*  So, I guess it must be great to have no shit happen in your life. Ignorant twit.

Hopefully everyone will be feeling better tomorrow and life can go back to normal. Well, my version of normal at least. Took D3 to the Dr today as the flu has gone into her chest and now she needs antibiotics.

Took the prexige to the chemist for destruction, so only have the high dose painkiller which I hate taking. Dr's going to do some research for me. I went and bought a bottle of Dr Red's punch immune system stuff. See if that helps.

I'm off to sleep.

Check your reality cloak at the door...

I am hanging out for the new Die Hard 4.0 movie to be released here. I am trying to avoid anything remotely review'ish or critic'ish but I have to say, I watched a trailer of it with the most awesome stunt involving a chopper. Apparently Bruce Willis has done all his own stunts in this one, so it's sounding great so far. No CGI to distract me as I look at how they did it, instead of what just happened.

Then, today I clicked on a critics review...

and have to say, oi, nutjob, it's entertainment not frickin' brain surgery! I am not expecting some highbrow epic. Everybody already knows what the storyline is going to be along the lines of. I don't really give a shit about the plot apart from the good guy wins and saves the world. As long as it has a storyline that you can follow without having to analyse your eyeballs for clues later, I'm happy. People need the obvious sometimes.

Bruce Willis has always been really good at saving the world too *G*

And of course they brought up my current pet media peeve, age. Gawd blimey. Someone grab my eyeballs as they roll past them and post them back please.

I hope it blitzes the box office and makes them look like dimwits.

sigh....

so much to tell and yet.. I can't fully yet. Don't want to jinx it all. I'm starting to feel a little  Kylie'ish as I am reworking myself yet again and need a little time to work out the best way of segregating the different work areas before one overwhelms the other. Evolving is good, right?

I also need to learn to be less private and hidden. I'm extremely uncomfortable when I'm noticed and struggle with that side of it. I tend to hide my personality and hide away until everyone moves on. Web design allows me to work anonymously, but the one I love doing the most, Art, doesn't really work well if you're anonymous.

Not. smart.

Anyway...

Art -

Been a bit neglected for the web design side, have to get stuff done though.

I've just signed up to ArtWanted.com and ArtCardsWanted.com for exposure and to trade ATC's and sell ACEO's* online. It's easier to sell via a well known site than it is to sell from your own site. I'm not sure Ebay is the way to go, so went with Art based sites instead.

Still working on masks with D3. Hopefully some pics tomorrow night, if they've dried out enough to work with tomorrow. I'm almost finished another piece that can be put online.

I'm going to be doing some original ACEO's tomorrow as well, so will put the link up when they're up.

[* If you want more info on what ATC's and ACEO's are, go here, they explain it much better than me.]

Web Design -

As I mentioned, I have a regular in house web designer gig now as well as existing clients, so not looking for any more work in that area.

R - Adam Thompson is an Aussie, lead singer for Chocolate Starfish, remember Four Letter Word???? LOL  His site is here. Knock yourself out *g*

Granddaughter loves Nana singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Only Nana and only Twinkle. She's getting teeth already and today that was the only thing that would stop her screaming. No clue why, I sound like a cat in a sack. So, I walked around the house singing madly for over an hour. She does NOT like Rock a bye baby, must be the idea of falling out of the tree. I might have to introduce her to Nana's favourite music. hehehehehe.

Yes, everyone else in the house hid.

No one is reading ...

I'm scared to comment anywhere.

Several of my fave bloggers have had to resort to protected/hidden blogs for various reasons and I worry that I may accidentally *out* them.  Plus, I read via feeds so tend to forget to click through, no, not really forget, it's usually for the reasons below. I get frustrated and then forget what I was going to type OR change my mind about posting it in case it sounds stupid/rude etc. While self censorship is not a bad thing that some people should excercise more of while online, it's not always a good thing either.

Isn't it interesting that something that promised so much in terms of freeing our lives up so that we have more free time to socialise in fact ties us up longer in trying to get to the goal of actually doing the socialising. In the time it takes me to read, then navigate to a comment section, then navigate the catchpa and log in repeatedly [ Yes, Blogger, that is YOU I am especially evilly squinting at! Fix the bloody login.] just to add my 10c worth, it takes so bloody long that I've forgotten what my 10c was and/or it's value has gone down.

So many blogs & sites now require you to log in just to comment and really, who can remember all the different usernames/passwords, so you then wonder how the hell you managed to remember stuff before computers and their handy *Remember Me* which doesn't work if you delete your cookies or are on a different page of the site when you try to log in.

So, pretty much I say nothing and let people wonder who the visitor was that reads all the time and says nothing. I am one of the noone's.

Which brings me to this...

I keep seeing that phrase mentioned on blogs I read. The owner laments that *no one* is reading, when what they should be saying is no one is commenting and ask themselves Why?  Obviously if I found them and read it, then someone is reading.

The answer is simple really and has nothing to do with their writing style, personality or if they're one of the popular kids. So many abandon their blogs etc because they think noone cares.

 We're being spammed into oblivion.

I often think the solution to spam is not chasing down the spammers but get the dipshits who respond to them and make it worth their while to keep spamming.

It's gotten to the stage where you never know if someone has actually gotten your email or comments or we don't bother because of the hoops we have to jump through just to communicate. The avalanche of spam that results from putting your email address or blog link for the harvesters to find is the Interwebs birth control.

My personal fave is emails from me to me that I obviously sent while my other personality took over to sell myself some p*nis* extending product or v**gra [ See! can't even type out whole words now or there'll be more spam.] or how to buy pirated software [Interesting that they expect me to pay them for it though]

I know I have some who visit here on a regular basis and have never commented or have and been accidentally consigned to Spam Hell. So, Hi! Thanks for visiting :-)

finally...

I have drafts of posts half finished because every time I start writing I get interrupted. Here's the tale so far

- In Victoria if you damage your vehicle while trying to avoid some dickhead on the road who has run a Give Way sign, tough noogies. It is not an accident and they don't have to worry about even stopping or pay for the damage they caused.

No wonder there is an increase in road rage and insurance premiums.

OTOH, if you hit their car, it's their fault and they have to pay.

Guess which one happened to us.

I have been busy watching Le Tour de France, boohoo 3 Aussies out in one stage yesterday. We do have 2 left though, Cadel  Evans and Simon Gerrans as well as the German dude who used to be an Aussie errr, Herman?

Shit. I just lost my net connection, I am starting to think the Universe is trying to tell me something! back shortly.

Ok, so it took me longer than I thought and now I've lost my train of thought. Bugger, I hate when that happens!

How about both. heh. Ten on TV and SBS on laptop.
